Mini League

To: Managers, Coaches and Parents of 2008 Mini League Children

As you know for those who have attended our monthly meetings, it was agreed upon that we would alternate pitching and hitting off the Tee for the upcoming season. With the new Mini Field soon to be completed, it has been decided by East Meadow Baseball/Softball Association that there will be no pitching to the Mini League teams on the new field.

The decision was made in the interest of safety to all those who visit our complex. Due to the new Mini Field not having a backstop with the proper overhang, the League did not want the risk of a foul ball going over the fence and injuring anybody on the complex. So in the interest of fairness to all Mini teams, there will be NO PITCHING in any games on any playing field. As some may feel this is unfair, please understand that the safety of everyone, player and spectator alike, is one of our main objectives. Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns or comments. Thanking you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

President

2008 MINI LEAGUE HOME RUN HITTERS

Saturday June 7th
Lucas McGowan  (2)
Saturday June 14th
John Carroll (Grand Slam)

Our Mini League Program
is for 5 & 6 year olds. Our goal is to teach the children how to play the game and to have FUN. There are 2 games per week. A weekday evening game which starts at 5:45pm and a Saturday game, (game times vary from 9am to 5pm). Each game has a 2 hour time limit. There is no score keeping at this level as we are teaching fundamentals of the game.

Each child will receive a full uniform, (hat, shirt, pants, socks). Players are required to be in full uniform for all games. NO metal bats are permitted. We will supply all equipment except gloves and rubber cleats, (which are optional). Parent participation is not an option but a requirement to help all the children learn and enjoy the game.

If you have any questions,
please contact Stephen LaSala at 735-4158.

Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend our monthly league meeting.  Stop on down and share you input.  These are open meetings and are scheduled on the second Monday of each month.
